'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' will start in next year
- It is heard that Amal Neerad's 'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' starring Mammootty and Prithviraj will be released in 2013. The shooting of the film was postponed due to the busy schedules of both Mammootty and Prithviraj.
After Mammootty's 'Kammath and Kammath' and Prithviraj's 'Aurengezeb', the Amal Neerad film is expected to go on floors. 'Celluloid' is the upcoming Malayalam release for Prithviraj.
Scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan, 'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' portrays the period 1940-1950 with Mammootty as the hero and Prithviraj as the villain.

Galaxy bags 'Praise the Lord'
Though Mammootty films are not gaining at the Box Office as expected, his new projects still have good takers.The latest is the case of 'Praise the Lord', a new movie to be directed by Shibu Gangaadharan. The production rights of this movie which will be on sets by the mid of next year has been bagged by Milan jaleel of Galaxy films. It is also to be noted that Jaleel's 'Thappana' released last Onam remains the only Mammootty movie in the last two year's to have managed to keep the producer happy by ending up as a safe earner.
Based on a story by Zachariah, 'Praise the Lord' will have dialogues by T P Devarajan. While Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer, Mahesh Narayanan will edit the movie. Shibu Gangadharan, an associate to directors like K Madhu, Rajeev nath ,Rajeev Anchal, V M Vinu and Mohan Ragahavan will start calling the shots for this movie from next April.
Five for this Xmas
This Christmas season will have five films racing it out at the Mollywood Box office. The two superstars will also have their representations in a season that usually create at-least one of the block busters every year.Mohanlal will have his 'Karamyoddha'- an action, investigative flick from Major Ravi by the 21st of this month. The same day will also witness the release of Mammooty-Ranjith's 'Bavootiyude Namathil', which is said to be a sure bet with the family audience. The movie is directed by G S Vijayan and features an ensemble cast.Meanwhile, hit maker r Aashiq Abu's Da Thadiya with a down to earth star cast, has also become one eagerly awaited film which will be on theatres the same day.
B Unnikrishnan who has a moderate hit this year in Grand Master, will try to repeat the same with 'I Love Me'- an youthful flick featuring Asif Ali, ISha Talwar and Unni Mukundan.The final movie to add to the Christmas list will be director Vinayan's version of ' Dracula 3D'. Th's will be one 3D movie that has appeared after many years in Mollywood.
Mammootty's 'Sukrutham' to Bollywood ?
It is rumored that Mammootty's 1994 movie 'Sukrutham' is to be remade in Hindi. It is also heard that besides Hindi, the movie will be made in Bengali too.
The discussions are on the way and may be Amir Khan will play the character played by Mammootty in the Malayalam version.

Bavootty ready after dubbing
The post production works of the new Mammooty movie 'Bavoottiyude Namathil' is nearing completion. Directed by G S Vijayan, the movie is scripted and presented by Ranjith. The movie has completed its dubbing and currently into re recording stages. Seven Arts will distribute this movie to theatres as a Christmas release on 21st of this month.
With good preview reports, the movie holds much expectations from the Mammooty camp as all his recent movies except 'Thappana' has met with poor reception at the Box Office.

John Abraham at the sets of 'Kammath and Kammath'
Bollywood super star John Abraham pays visit to the stars of Malayalam on the location of 'Kammath and Kammath' starring Mammootty and Dileep as Kammath Brothers.
John Abraham was at Fort Kochi for more than a week for the shooting of his Hindi movie 'Jaffna'. John who spent time with Mammootty and Dileep reminisced his childhood days spent at Aluva.
Mammootty gave a warm welcome to John Abraham and treated him with home-made Kerala food prepared at his home. John spent around 2 hours with Mammootty and Dileep.
John Abraham also shared his earnest wish to work in a Malayalam movie. He revealed his wish in the presence of producers Anto Joseph and Subair.

'Face to Face' ready for release
V M Vinu's Mammootty-starrer 'Face to Face' is scheduled for release on the 30th of this month. The script is penned by Manoj Payyannur and the movie is produced by M K Nazer.
'Face to Face' is an investigative thriller, with loads of action and suspense. As the title suggests this is Balachandran's (played by Mammootty) face to face fight with the modern times which cannot even distinguish between virtue and vice.
The movie which brings life and death face to face is produced by M K Nazer under the banner of Goodline Productions. Music composition by Alphons, the songs of 'Face to Face' are already launched.

Naren to be part of 'Kammath and Kammath'

Mammootty to be part of an Anthology
Mammootty joins the cast of an anthology film which comprises four featurettes. The anthology which is made as part of celebrating the centenary of Indian cinema will be screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.
Mammootty will be part of the film directed by M Padmakumar and the other directors are Shajoon Kariyal, Rajesh Pillai, and Salim Ahmed. Each of them will be short, independent films of 35-40 minutes duration.
Shajoon Kariyal's flick will cast Biju Menon in the lead role, the script of which is by Sachi. Bobby-Sanjay duo pens the script for Rajesh Pillai and the movie casts Kunchacko Boban and Sreenivasan. Salim Kumar and Fahad Fazil will be seen in the Salim Ahmed film which is scripted by the director himself.
The film will be produced by a Chennai based studio.

Malayalam superstar Mammootty Thursday officially launched his page on social networking website Facebook. He is looking forward to connect with his fans across the world.
The 61-year-old sent out a personal video message to his Facebook friends.
"I think this is a great platform for me to connect with each one of you directly. I will update from time to time about my movies, and my social and charitable causes, and some candid pictures," Mammootty said in the video message.
His Facebook page will be a platform for his fans to be a part of his life and get exclusive sneak peeks into his latest movies, shoots and also engage with him on a personal basis.
"I am excited to be able to now connect with my fans in India and globally through Facebook. Through this platform, I will get constant feedbacks and comments from fans as well as critics, helping me create and recreate better entertaining experience," the National award-winning actor said in a statement.

Again 'New Delhi'; Mammootty as G K
- Mammootty's G K returns; the sequel to the 1987 thriller film 'New Delhi' is in the pipeline. After 25 years the veteran cinematographer Jayanan Vincent plans to bring G K once again on the silver screen.
'New Delhi' was scripted by Dennis Joseph and directed by Joshiy. It tells the story of an investigative journalist, G K, who creates news and publishes them exclusively in his own newspaper. The runaway success of 'New Delhi' gave Mammootty's career a new lease of life.
'New Delhi' was the first Malayalam movie to be shot at New Delhi, and the first Malayalam movie that grossed more than one crore as well.
The sequel to this movie would be directed by Jayanan Vincent, the cinematographer of the original one. This is the first directorial venture of Jayanan Vincent who had wielded camera for around 150 movies.

Mammootty supports new generation
Megastar Mammootty is in all support for the new trends in Mollywood, primarily the genre called as the new generation films. The actor finds them to symbolise the thinking lines of the current generation. Mammootty was speaking at the book release function of director KG George's auto biography titled 'Flashback: Enteyum Cinemayudeyum'.Mammooty also observed that those film makers who are found to take a different path, and who are often cited as in wrong directions are later given approval by the society, who once doesn't stand by them.
Mammootty's support for the new generation filmmaker gains much importance as famous names of Mollywood like Adoor Gopalakrishnan and BalachandraMenon has expressed their disinterest with their contents. Adoor recently stated that the huge crowds that are on theatres for a current hit are there just to listen to the expletives and obscene expressions used by the women in it, which are found to be poorer than what even men would dare to say. Balachandrmenon observed that much of their dialogues are like that of toilet humour or like offencive writings that we often see on lavatories.

Ashiq Abu's next film after 'Da Thadiya' will have Fahad with Mammootty. Industry grapevine is that in the movie titled 'Gangster' Fahad Fazil and DJ Shekhar are also playing prominent roles along with Mammootty. Ashiq Abu's yet to be released 'Da Thadiya' is the debut film of Shekhar.
Ashiq made his directorial debut with Mammoty starrer 'Daddy Cool'. His next two ventures 'Salt N' Pepper' and '22 Female Kottayam' were smash hits in the box office.
'Gangster' is expected to be a slick and stylish underworld saga. Even though the film has been announced well before the shoot of'Da Thadiya' the project got delayed and now it is expected to take off soon.

Kammath to start this October
The shoot for 'Kammath and Kammath', the new movie from Thomson will start this week at Ernakulam. FeaturingMammootty and Jayaram together as brothers after a gap of almost 20 years, this humorous entertainer will have them as brothers who run a chain of hotels.The movie will also feature Dileep as an Income Tax Officer who comes up to raid the establishments of Kammath brothers.
Scripted by Sibi K Thomas-Udhay Krishna, the movie will be shot at locations in Palakkad, Mangalapuram and Kochi.Lekshmy Rai and Vedhika will play the female lead in this movie which will also have a big list of supporting actors in important roles

Mammootty pins hopes on 'Jawan of Vellimala'
Mammootty pins high hopes on his maiden production venture 'Jawan of Vellimala'. Mammootty in and as the Jawan of Vellimala is also the producer of the film.
'Jawan of Vellimala', which is ready for release, is the first film produced by Mammotty under his own production company, Playhouse. Earlier Playhouse was into film distribution.
The movie revolves around the dam and the villagers associated with it. Mammootty dons an ex- military man who very dedicatedly guards the Vellimala dam. The film, directed by debutant Anoop Kannan, also casts Sreenivasan, Asif Ali, and Mamta Mohandas in the main roles.

After the big hit 'Karayasthan', director Thomson has already kick started the works for his new movie. Special audio release for Jawan
Mammooty's first home production 'Jawan of Vellimala' will have a very special audio release soon.The songs of the movie will be released by ten retired army personals selected from across the state. The selection will be made after a contest where the retired personals are asked to furnish the reasons for their voluntary retirement from the armed forces. The music company, Mathrubhumi ' has already invited entries that must be delivered to them by 12th of this month at mbmusic@mpp.co.on.

'Kunjanandante Kada' will start rolling from December at Palaghat. The director Salim Ahmed himself is penning the script and producing the film.
The director says that he is completely preoccupied with the movie as his earlier film 'Adaminte Makan Abu' has won several State Awards and much will be expected from this flick too.
The film which narrates the story of a mismatched couple casts Mammootty as a grocery shop owner. Other cast except Salim Kumar is not finalized. Many drama artists from Kannur will be included in the cast as the film uses the Kannur dialect.
Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will do the sound recording for the film. Resul will be using the technique of synchronized sound recording for the first time in Malayalam.

'Jawan of Vellimala' ready to release
- 'Jawan of Vellimala' is getting ready to release soon. The post production works are almost over and the film is expected to be released on the 19th of this month.
The story revolves round the Vellimala dam and the people living there. Gopi Krishnan, played by Mammootty is an ex-military man and guards the Vellimala dam. Along with Mammootty, Asif Ali, Sreenivasan, and Mamta Mohandas play important roles.

Mammootty launches Puthiya theerangal CD
Megastar Mammotty has launched the audio C D of the new movie from Sathyan Anthikkad titled 'Puthiya Theerangal'. Expected to be on theatres within a couple of weeks, the three songs of the movie written by Kaithapram are set to tunes by Ilayaraja. Director Renjith, Rima Kallingal and K R Pramod were also present in the function.
Presented by Mathrubhumi music , the movie will have songs sung by Vijay Yesudas, Hari haran, Shwetha and Madhu Balakrishnan.

Richard Gere, Mammootty to share red carpet in Abu Dhabi
Mammootty and Hollywood icon Richard Gere will share the red carpet on the opening night of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival.
The sixth edition of the festival will run Oct 11-20, with the screening of 81 feature length films and 84 short films representing 48 countries.
Gere's hit movie "Arbitrage", co-starring Nate Parker will open the 10-day extravaganza. Gere and Parker will walk the red carpet, along with one of the film's executive producers, Mohammed Al Turki from Saudi Arabia and director, Nicholas Jarecki.
Also attending opening night will be Indian actor-producer Mammootty and Iranian actress, Golshifteh Farahani, among others, said a statement issued Tuesday.
The festival will witness other red carpet premieres, master classes and workshops by regional and international film experts.
Two Lifetime Achievement Awards will be awarded this year. One will be awarded to Egyptian screen legend Sawsan Badr, and the other to Italian film star Claudia Cardinale.
The festival will have a spotlight on South Korea, with six great films and a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Algerian independence.
