'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' will start in next year

  • It is heard that Amal Neerad's 'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' starring Mammootty and Prithviraj will be released in 2013. The shooting of the film was postponed due to the busy schedules of both Mammootty and Prithviraj.

    After Mammootty's 'Kammath and Kammath' and Prithviraj's 'Aurengezeb', the Amal Neerad film is expected to go on floors. 'Celluloid' is the upcoming Malayalam release for Prithviraj.

    Scripted by Shankar Ramakrishnan, 'Arival Chuttika Nakshatram' portrays the period 1940-1950 with Mammootty as the hero and Prithviraj as the villain.

Galaxy bags 'Praise the Lord'

Though Mammootty films are not gaining at the Box Office as expected, his new projects still have good takers.The latest is the case of 'Praise the Lord', a new movie to be directed by Shibu Gangaadharan. The production rights of this movie which will be on sets by the mid of next year has been bagged by Milan jaleel of Galaxy films. It is also to be noted that Jaleel's 'Thappana' released last Onam remains the only Mammootty movie in the last two year's to have managed to keep the producer happy by ending up as a safe earner.

Based on a story by Zachariah, 'Praise the Lord' will have dialogues by T P Devarajan. While Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer, Mahesh Narayanan will edit the movie. Shibu Gangadharan, an associate to directors like K Madhu, Rajeev nath ,Rajeev Anchal, V M Vinu and Mohan Ragahavan will start calling the shots for this movie from next April.

Five for this Xmas

This Christmas season will have five films racing it out at the Mollywood Box office. The two superstars will also have  their representations in a season that usually create at-least one of the block busters every year.Mohanlal will have his 'Karamyoddha'- an action, investigative flick from Major Ravi by the 21st of this month. The same day will also witness the release of Mammooty-Ranjith's 'Bavootiyude Namathil', which is said to be a sure bet with the family audience. The movie is  directed by G S Vijayan  and features an ensemble cast.Meanwhile, hit maker r Aashiq Abu's Da Thadiya with a down to earth star cast, has also become one eagerly awaited film which will be on theatres the same day.

B Unnikrishnan who has a moderate hit this year in Grand Master, will try to repeat the same with 'I Love Me'- an youthful flick featuring Asif Ali, ISha Talwar and Unni Mukundan.The final movie to add to the Christmas list will be director Vinayan's version of ' Dracula 3D'. Th's will be one 3D movie that has appeared after many years in Mollywood.

Mammootty's 'Sukrutham' to Bollywood ?

It is rumored that Mammootty's 1994 movie 'Sukrutham' is to be remade in Hindi. It is also heard that besides Hindi, the movie will be made in Bengali too.

The discussions are on the way and may be Amir Khan will play the character played by Mammootty in the Malayalam version. 

Directed by Harikumar and written by M T Vasudevan Nair, 'Sukrutham' is considered one of the best Malayalam films of the 90s by the audience and the critics alike. 

'Sukrutham' won the National film Award for the Best Feature in Malayalam in 1995 and Mammootty's performance as a cancer stricken journalist was widely appreciated by all.

Bavootty ready after dubbing

The post production works of the new Mammooty movie 'Bavoottiyude Namathil' is nearing completion. Directed by G S Vijayan, the movie is scripted and presented by Ranjith. The movie has completed its dubbing and currently into re recording stages. Seven Arts will distribute this movie to theatres as a Christmas release on 21st of this month.

With good preview reports, the movie holds much expectations from the Mammooty camp as all his recent movies except 'Thappana' has met with poor reception at the Box Office.
