'Immanuel' completes 50

After a dull phase in the last two years which witnessed almost 11 films doing nothing in the Box Office, senior star Mammootty is slowly emerging from the ashes. His latest 'Immanuel ' directed by laljose has completed 50 days in select centres to emerge a hit. This is the second movie from the star to complete a 50 day  this year  and to be announced as a hit, the earlier being 'Kammath and Kammath.

Emmanuel which continues in eight centres has managed to make a share of around four crores apart from the satellite rights. The feel good movie does limb in the first week but as the family audiences took a liking to it, the movie went on without any big fuzz providing a dependable hit for the megastar.


Mammootty meets Mayor

Megatsar Mamootty is currently in Germany for the final schedule of  Renjith's 'Kadal Kadannoru Mathukkutty' . The movie penned by Renjith with Mammootty in the title role of a German based NRI, tells the story of a nurse and her husband who moved to Germany from Kollencherry. 

Mamooty while shooting at North Rhine Westphalia had a surprise guest recently in the form of the Mayor of  Brent Gunter . The Mayor talked in length about India and particularly Kerala, as he had been to Kerala. He also shared with Mammootty the wonderful experiences that he had during the visit to the state.

Mohanlal and Dileep appear in cameo roles in this movie jointly produced by  Shaji Nadesan, Prithviraj, and Santhosh Sivan under the banner of August Cinema.

Balachandra Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suresh Krishna, Tini Tom, Kottayam Nazeer, Nandu, Narayankkutty, Shekhar Menon, Sunil Sugatha, Prem Prakash, Niyaz Becker, Antony, Meera Nandan, Alisha Muhammed, and Muthumani also appear in important roles. Madhu Neelakandan is handling the camera. Shahabas Aman composes music for the lines of Rafeeq Ahmed and Anu Elizabeth Jose.

'Kadal Kadannoru Mathukkutty' in Germany

  • Renjith's 'Kadal Kadannoru Mathukkutty' with Mammootty in the title role is having its second shooting schedule in Germany.

Kerala Box Office May 3-9,2013

1. Mumbai Police (last week-1.67 c , total-1.67 c)

This movie played in 78 screens last week.

Mumbai Police was very well received which is shown up in its almost good initial. The movie is receiving negative reports from the Mass audience and a very good opinion from the Multiplex viewers. Let's see whether Mumbai police can sustain through its second week after a good initial.

2. Hotel California (last week-1.22 c , total-1.22 c)

This movie played in 55 screens last week.

Hotel California got an Above average opening. Let's wait to see if it can sustain from the reports it is getting

3. Sound Thoma (last week-91 c , total-7.66 c)

This movie had a decline of 24.1% collection from previous week. This movie played in 44 screens last week, with a decline of 35.9% screens from the previous week.

Sound Thoma still manages to hold a good collection even in its fifth week. Clearly this movie turns out to be the Vishu winner 2013. The new releases didn't affect this movies collection even though it lost some centres.

4. Bharya Athra Pora (last week-81 l , total-81 l)

This movie played in 54 screens last week.

Considering the genre and vacation season Bharya Athra Pora failed to get a targeted initial. The movie managed well in main centres but in the small centres Bharya Athra Pora got a disappointing opening. This movie is getting an average opinion and let's wait to see if Gopikas Comeback and vacation season can save this movie.

5. Emmanuel (last week-63 l , total-6.47 c)

This movie had a decline of 31.58% collection from previous week. This movie played in 24 screens last week, with a decline of 56.7% screens from the previous week.

Emmanuel had many removals this week mainly affected by the release of Bharya Athra Pora from the same distributors. But the movie managed to get a decent collection on an overall with a good collection from the main centers.

Aleesha with Mammootty

Mammootty seems to have a penchant in teaming up with fresh faces , even in the case of his directors or heroines. The latest to join him as a fresh heroine will be Aleesha Muhammed.

A radio jockey by profession, she will play the role of Rosy , a school teacher in Mammootty's new movie 'Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty'. The movie which will follow the misadventures of German based NRI,played by Mammootty, is currently on sets at Ernakulam.

Mammootty to enact T P Chandrasekharan?

Mammootty will don T P Chandrasekharan in the new political thriller by I V Sasi. The movie is based on the script developed by T Damodaran much before the death of Chandrasekharan.

T Damodaran's script plots a political murder which I V Sasi plans to develop by relating it to the murder of T P Chandrasekharan. The screenplay will be completed by Deedi Damodaran, daughter of T Damodaran.

Politician T P Chandrasekharan's murder had a telling effect in the political scenario of Kerala.

Mohanlal and Mammootty in 'Randamoozham'

Mohanlal and Mammootty play hero and anti hero in MT-Hariharan teams' upcoming flick 'Randamoozham'. The team will start with this project after 'Ezhamathe Varavu'.

It is almost confirmed that Mohanlal will don Bheeman. According to reports Mammootty and Indrajith also are part of 'Randamoozham'. Mammootty will play Duryodhanan and Indrajith will do the role of one of the Pandavas.

The movie is expected to be a big budget one with the crew including ace personalities from India and abroad. It is heard that Oscar winner Rasool Pookkutty will be handling the sound recording of the film.

In the banner of Gokulam Films, 'Randamoozham' is produced by Gokulam Gopalan. The movie is expected to start rolling by the end of 2013.
