Five movies for this Vishu

As usual with the most important release season of the Malyalam film Industry; during this Vishu also five of the best films from all the important stars in the industry are coming to hit the big screens.

The first to grace the theatres will be 'Sagar Alias Jackey-reloaded' a sequel to the eighties super hit 'Irupatham Noottandu'. Directed and Cinematographed by Amal Neerad, this stylish action drama will grace the release centers by the 27th of March.

Lal creations will follow this big movie with their release of 'Hariharnagar-2' -a sequel to In 'Hariharnagar' by the 2nd of April. The movie directed by Lal will have all the important heroes of the original, but in a new avatar. Lekshmy Rai is the heroine of this movie planned as a hilarious entertainer.

Suresh Gopi will have his 'IG' - an investigative drama, with director B. Unnikrishanan for the season, while Dileep is trying in every way possible to get his movie with veteran director Faazil 'Moses D Samuel' on theatres for the Vishu holidays.

As per the latest reports Mammootty will have two releases in the same month. His bilingual 'Vande Mataram' is already over and will grace the theaters as a Vishu release. The movie directed by T Aravind featuring action king Arjun as the other lead hero will be released with the title 'Aaruvadai' in Tamil.

The second Mammootty flick is the special effects movie 'Pattanathil Bhootham' in which Mammootty is playing a double role. The movie will in all probabilities will grace the release stations by the end of April or by the first week of May.

Since the movie demands a lot of post production works and special effects works, the exact release date of the movie is not yet out.

Vande Mataram: Shooting completed

Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Tamil 'action king' Arjun team's much-anticipated bilingual Vande Mataram (Aruvadai in Tamil), directed by T. Arvind, has completed its shooting. The film¢s climax was shot in Sengundram with the lead actors and several junior artists.
Director Arvind expressed his happiness that Vande Mataram has fulfilled his expectations and come out well. Describing the film¢s story in a single line, the director said Vande Mataram is an investigative action thriller, the story of a group of police officers who go hunting for a group of terrorists who have been creating havoc in the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.
Produced by Henry with a whopping budget of 14 cores under the banner of Pankaj Productions, the film begins with a scenes showing that the central investigative agency (RAW) finds out that Malik, head of a terrorist group, has crossed the international border and entered India to execute deadly explosions in South India. Gopi Krishnan (Mammootty), Southern zone command director of the Intelligence bureau, is assigned the task of tracing the plans of the organization and stopping them from creating any damage.
Gopi Krishnan forms a core team with support from Anwar Hussain (Arjun) who joins the group on deputation from the State police. The execution of 'Operation Malik' forms the climax of the movie. The film will feature two heroines, Sneha as a pilot and wife of Gopi Krishnan and Sharadha Arya as an ornithologist. Deepak J.D. makes his debut as the deadly villain.
The action sequences and stunts were cinematographed by stunt director Anal Arasu. K. Santhosh has written the dialogues for the Malayalam version. The five songs in the movie, penned by Gireesh Puthencherry and Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma, are set to music by Vidyasagar. The Tamil verses are written by P. Vijay, Vairamuthu and Yugabarathi. Cinematography is by Vetri and Rajesh Yadav.
