Again-as-super-star

Mammootty again as the superstar IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, March 19, 2008] Mammootty was more than successful, portraying the role of the superstar Ashokraj in the recent hit 'Katha Parayumpol'. The film made the big headlines and the superstars Rajinikanth and Shahrukh Khan were the few who wants to be in the role, in the remakes of this film.
After this unprecedented success, Mammootty is again playing himself in the new film 'One Way Ticket' which has Prithviraj in the lead.
Mammootty will be appearing in a short cameo as super star Mammootty, in the film. The film has Prithviraj as Kunjaapoo, a Jeep driver who is an ardent fan of the star. The film will feature some scenes which will have the super star giving support to his fans who are more involved in social support activities than the promotion of the stardom

'Cycle' continues at the top
> IndiaGlitz [Saturday, March 08, 2008]
>
> The last week was a more woeful week for the theaters as the cricket
> finals and the year end exams, did affect their regular collections to
> a large extent. The week saw a number of new releases, which made no
> great impact at the box office. The current favorites in the list are:
>
> 1. 'Cycle'- This chic thriller continue to make dream collections.
> With a lot of relatively fresh faces including Vinoo mohan, Vinneeth
> Sreenivasan, Sandhya and Bhama, the movie already have made two crores
> as the producers share from its twenty day run. With little
> competition ahead till the Vishu releases, the movie will become the
> first super hit of the year.
>
> 2. 'Roudram' - Like the last week, Mammootty's first film in the New
> Year have already become a hit. Even though, the encouraging initial
> collections that the film fetched has settled down, majority of the
> centers register around 40-50 percent collections in its sixth week
> run. The three main centers of Kerala had already made a collection of
> more than a crore for the film.
>
> 3. 'Katha Parayumpol' - In another turn of events,
> Sreenivasan- Mammootty starrer 'Katha Parayumpol' still maintains its
> place in the chart tops, even after twelve releases after it. The film
> is in its 79th day.
>
> 4.'College Kumaran'-_Mohanlal' s first film of the year turns up as his
> first flop of the year. But the movie did fare better than some of his
> precious failures and is entering fortieth day in select centers.
> Towards the southern region of the state, the film is not such a big
> flop as it is in the North.
>
> 5. `Calcutta News' - The movie remains in the charts due to default,
> as the recent releases could not invite any interest from the majority
> of the masses. The film is already declared a big flop, considering
> its heavy budget.
>
> `Anthiponvettam' that was released last week was cleared off from
> every center in a week. Also the dubbing films that were released last
> week didn't fare any better. The week has two new releases in
> `Jubilee' and `Salabham' -which opened to average responses but
> haven't managed to reach the charts in its opening weekend.

Hallo.. Mayaavi!
By Moviebuzz
Sunday, 02 March , 2008, 15:31
[left] It is an unique idea tossed up by leading producer Antony
Perumbavoor of Aashirwad Cinemas, to bring together the characters
played by Mohanlal in Hallo and Mammootty in Mayaavi together in one
film titled Hallo.. Maayavi!
Antony has spoken to Rafi and Mecartin, the directors of Hello and
Rafi's brother Shafi the director of Mayaavi to work on this
concept. Says Shafi: "It sounds exciting as the drunken lawyer
Sivaraman of Hallo meets the crusader and do-gooder Mahi alias Maayavi
in an all new film. Rafi and Mecartin will work on the script and I will
direct it."

Antony's proposal has the green signal of Mammootty and Mohanlal,
who are willing to come together after Fazil's Harikrishna to give
their fans and the audiences an all new experience. The earliest the duo
can come together is in early 2009, and the film can be their Vishu 2009
releases.

If the "dream project" has to become a reality, the cost factor
has to be worked out. The film cannot be a viable project, if it costs
more than Rs 4 to 4.5 crore. Television rights DVD, theatrical outside
Kerala and overseas can fetch Rs 1.75 to Rs 2 crore. Due to the two
stars coming together in one film based on popular characters from their
hit films, will ensure bumper opening in Kerala. It has the potential to
cover its cost from Kerala theatricals alone.

Hallo.. Mayaavi is still in idea stage, a lot depends on how good or bad
2008 turns out for the Malayalam superstars.
A Mammootty-Lal movie on the cards IndiaGlitz [Monday, March 03, 2008] Both the super stars of Malayalam, Mammootty and Mohanlal had two big hits in 'Mayavi' and 'Hello' of 2007. But very few could have thought of blending the characters of both these films -the drunken funny lawyer Shivaraman and the do-gooder Mahi alias Mayavi, for a film.
It was the producer Antony Perumbavoor, of Aashirwad, Mohanlal's home production company, who put forward such an exciting idea about a film where Shivaraman has to meet Mahi. Both the super stars immediately agreed to the bright idea when they heard about the project.
And now super hit script writers Rafi-Mecartin have started with the outlines of the plot which will be directed by Shafi-the only director who had two big super hits in 2007. The film tentatively titled as 'Hello..Mayavi' will be in all possibilities a flick that will hit the screens on April, next year as a Vishu offering.
More details about this dream project are awaited
