'Cycle' continues at the top
> IndiaGlitz [Saturday, March 08, 2008]
>
> The last week was a more woeful week for the theaters as the cricket
> finals and the year end exams, did affect their regular collections to
> a large extent. The week saw a number of new releases, which made no
> great impact at the box office. The current favorites in the list are:
>
> 1. 'Cycle'- This chic thriller continue to make dream collections.
> With a lot of relatively fresh faces including Vinoo mohan, Vinneeth
> Sreenivasan, Sandhya and Bhama, the movie already have made two crores
> as the producers share from its twenty day run. With little
> competition ahead till the Vishu releases, the movie will become the
> first super hit of the year.
>
> 2. 'Roudram' - Like the last week, Mammootty's first film in the New
> Year have already become a hit. Even though, the encouraging initial
> collections that the film fetched has settled down, majority of the
> centers register around 40-50 percent collections in its sixth week
> run. The three main centers of Kerala had already made a collection of
> more than a crore for the film.
>
> 3. 'Katha Parayumpol' - In another turn of events,
> Sreenivasan- Mammootty starrer 'Katha Parayumpol' still maintains its
> place in the chart tops, even after twelve releases after it. The film
> is in its 79th day.
>
> 4.'College Kumaran'-_Mohanlal' s first film of the year turns up as his
> first flop of the year. But the movie did fare better than some of his
> precious failures and is entering fortieth day in select centers.
> Towards the southern region of the state, the film is not such a big
> flop as it is in the North.
>
> 5. `Calcutta News' - The movie remains in the charts due to default,
> as the recent releases could not invite any interest from the majority
> of the masses. The film is already declared a big flop, considering
> its heavy budget.
>
> `Anthiponvettam' that was released last week was cleared off from
> every center in a week. Also the dubbing films that were released last
> week didn't fare any better. The week has two new releases in
> `Jubilee' and `Salabham' -which opened to average responses but
> haven't managed to reach the charts in its opening weekend.
