Veteran Malayalam actor Tilakan was today expelled from the life membership of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for "indiscipline" over his outbursts against the forum and senior actors.
The general body of AMMA at its meeting here endorsed the decision taken in this regard by its executive committee held in April five, Association president Innocent and Secretary Mohanlal told reporters.
Today's meeting also decided to proceed with the case against renowned Malayalam writer Sukumar Azhikode, for his criticism against AMMA leaders and specially against its secretary.
Tilakan was suspended from the AMMA on March 1 over his "unbearable" attacks on the forum and other senior actors after he was denied a role in a film.
The meeting also decided to extend 'Kaineettam' (financial assistance) to four more artists.
