Versatile Malayalam actor Murali died at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, at the age of 55, due to acute diabetes.Murali was a National Award winning Indian film actor who mainly acted in Malayalam and Tamil language films. He was known for his powerful portrayal of roles in lead as well as character roles. He completed his degree in law from the Thiruvananthapuram Law Academy. Murali got his first Kerala State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Amaram, directed by filmmaker Bharathan. He later win the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Aadharam. Murali won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor for his powerful portrayal of Appumestri in Neythukaran, directed by Priyanandanan. The same role won him the National Film Award for Best Actor for the year 2002
He was also the chairman of the Kerala Sangeeth Natak Academy. Murali was born on 25 May 1954 in Kudavattoor, Kollam, Kerala, India. Parents P. Krishna Pillai and K. Devaki Amma..Amaram, Aadharam,Kanakkinavu,Thaloalam,Neythukaran are the award winning movies.
