തൃശൂരിന്‍റെ അരുമ സന്തതിയായ ചിറമ്മല്‍ ഈനാശു ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ് എന്ന പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന് എന്ന കഥാപാത്രത്തെ മമ്മൂട്ടി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന് ആന്‍ഡ് ദ സെയിന്‍റിന്‍റെ ഫ്ലക്സ് ബോര്‍ഡുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് മമ്മുക്കയുടെ തല പോയതിന് തൊട്ടുപിന്നാലെ ശിക്കാര്‍ എന്ന സിനിമയുടെ പോസ്റ്ററുകളില്‍ നിന്ന് ലാലേട്ടന്റെ തലയും അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായി. ബ്ലേഡുകൊണ്ട് തലമാത്രം കീറിയെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന രീതിയിലാണ് കൊച്ചി നഗരത്തില്‍ ഈ രണ്ട് സിനിമകളുടെയും പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ കാണുന്നത്.
മമ്മുക്കയുടെയും ലാലേട്ടന്റെയും തല മാത്രമല്ല അപ്രത്യക്ഷമായിരിക്കുന്നത്. അപൂര്‍വരാഗം എന്ന സിനിമയുടെ പോസ്റ്ററിലുള്ള സംവിധായകന് സിബി മലയിലിനും തലയില്ല. പാട്ടിന്റെ പാലാഴിയുടെ പോസ്റ്ററില്‍ മീരാ ജാസ്മിനും തലയില്ല. ശനിയാഴ്ച രാത്രിയും ഞായറാഴ്ച രാത്രിയുമാണ് പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ക്കെതിരെ ആക്രമണം നടന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
ആരോ മനപൂര്‍വം പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ നശിപ്പിച്ചതായാണ് ഫിലിം ചേമ്പര്‍ കരുതുന്നത്. ചേമ്പറും ഡിസ്ട്രിബ്യൂട്ടേഴ്‌സ് അസോസിയേഷനും എറണാകുളം സിറ്റി പോലീസ് കമ്മീഷണര്‍ക്ക് പരാതി നല്‍‌കാന്‍ ഒരുങ്ങുകയാണ്. പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ നശിപ്പിച്ചവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ നടപടി വേണം എന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് 'പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന് ആന്‍ഡ് ദി സെയ്ന്റി'ന്റെ വിതരണക്കാരായ പ്ലേ ഹൗസ് റിലീസിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഇതിനകം തന്നെ അസിസ്റ്റന്റ് കമ്മീഷണര്‍ക്ക് പരാതി നല്‍കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
സംഭവത്തില്‍ മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെയും മോഹന്‍ലാലിന്റെയും ഫാന്‍സ് അസോസിയേഷനുകള്‍ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു. മലയാളം ഫിലിം പ്രൊഡ്യൂസേഴ്സ് അസോസിയേഷനും പ്രതിഷേധം അറിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. മലയാള സിനിമയില്‍ മമ്മൂട്ടിയും മോഹന്‍ലാലും ആര്‍ജിച്ച പ്രശസ്തിയും പെരുമയും പത്ത് പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ കീറിയാല്‍ നശിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ കഴിയുന്നതല്ലെന്ന് പോസ്റ്റര് കീറുന്ന സാമൂഹിക വിരുദ്ധര്‍ മനസ്സിലാക്കണമെന്ന് ഫിലിം പ്രൊഡ്യൂസേഴ്സ് അസോസിയേന്‍ പ്രസിഡന്റ് സാബു ചെറിയാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.

നഗരത്തിലെ വിവിധ ഇടങ്ങളിലായി പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന്റെ നാല്‍‌പ്പതോളം ഫ്ലെക്സുകളാണ് സ്ഥാപിച്ചിരുന്നത്. ഇതില്‍ ഇരുപത്തിരണ്ടോളം ഫ്ലെക്സുകളില്‍ മമ്മൂട്ടിയുടെ മുഖം വെട്ടിമാറ്റിയ നിലയിലാണ്. റംസാന്‍ റിലീസിന് തയ്യാറെടുക്കുന്ന മറ്റ് ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഫ്ലെക്സുകളും സമീപത്തുണ്ടെങ്കിലും പ്രാഞ്ചിയേട്ടന് നേര്‍ക്ക് മാത്രമെ ആക്രമണം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുള്ളു. ശനിയാഴ്ച രാത്രിയാണ് പോസ്റ്ററുകള്‍ കീറിയതെന്ന് സംശയിക്കുന്നു.

Last year's blockbuster, 'Pazhassiraja' has been selected to the famous Fukuoka Film Festival. The movie is selected to the competition section of the film festival which starts this 17th of September.

മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ ഇന്നത്തെ പോക്കില്‍ മെഗാസ്റ്റാര്‍ മമ്മൂട്ടി അസ്വസ്ഥനാണെന്ന് യംഗ് സൂപ്പര്‍സ്റ്റാര്‍ പൃഥ്വിരാജ്. ഓണത്തോടനുബന്ധിച്ച് മലയാളത്തിലെ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ ടി വി ചാനലിന് നല്‍കിയ അഭിമുഖത്തിലാണ് പൃഥ്വിരാജ് ഇക്കാര്യം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നത്.
"ഇന്നത്തെ മലയാള സിനിമയുടെ അവസ്ഥയിലും തന്നേത്തേടി കരുത്തുള്ള കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ വരാത്തതിലും മമ്മുക്ക അസ്വസ്ഥനാണ്. പോക്കിരിരാജയുടെ ലൊക്കേഷനില്‍ അറുപത് ദിവസത്തോളം അദ്ദേഹത്തോടൊപ്പം ചെലവഴിക്കാന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞു. മികച്ച കഥാപാത്രങ്ങള്‍ക്കായുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്‍റെ കാത്തിരിപ്പിനെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന വേഷങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നില്ല." - പൃഥ്വിരാജ് പറഞ്ഞു. ജീവിതത്തോടും സിനിമയോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിലപാടുകള്‍ പൃഥ്വി തുറന്നടിച്ചു പറയുന്ന ഈ അഭിമുഖത്തിന്‍റെ പ്രസക്തഭാഗങ്ങള്‍:
"ഞാന്‍ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ തുറന്നു പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ആദ്യം എല്ലാവരും എന്നെ നിഷേധിയെന്നും ധിക്കാരിയെന്നും വിളിച്ചു. കുറച്ചുനാള്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ അവനെ ഉപദേശിച്ചിട്ടു കാര്യമില്ല, അവന്‍ മാറില്ല എന്നൊക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു. ഇപ്പോള്‍ ആളുകള്‍ പറയുന്നത് അവനെ കണ്ടു പഠിക്കണമെന്നാണ്. ഞാനും എന്‍റെ നിലപാടുകളും മാറിയിട്ടില്ല. എന്‍റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവരാണ് മാറിയത്."
"ഞാന്‍ തമിഴിനേക്കാള്‍ നന്നായി സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് ഹിന്ദിയാണ്. ബോളിവുഡില്‍ നിന്ന് ധാരാളം ഓഫറുകള്‍ വരുന്നുണ്ട്. സംവിധായകന് സഞ്ജയ് ഗുപ്ത ഉള്‍പ്പടെയുള്ളവര്‍ പ്രൊജക്ടുകളുമായി സമീപിച്ചിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍, ഹിന്ദിയില്‍ ഒരു സിനിമ ചെയ്യാന്‍ വേണ്ടി ഞാന്‍ ബോളിവുഡിലേക്ക് പോകില്ല. അങ്ങനെ ഒരാഗ്രഹമൊന്നും എനിക്കില്ല. നല്ല സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റില്‍ നല്ല സിനിമ ചെയ്യണമെന്നാണ് ആഗ്രഹം. അതുതിരഞ്ഞ് ഞാന്‍ അങ്ങോട്ടുപോകില്ല, വേണമെങ്കില്‍ ബോളിവുഡ് ഇങ്ങോട്ടു വരട്ടെ."
"കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ തുറന്നടിച്ചു പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന പൊട്ടിത്തെറികളെ ഞാന്‍ ഭയക്കുന്നില്ല. ഞാന്‍ എന്തിനു ഭയപ്പെടണം? അങ്ങനെ ഭയക്കേണ്ട ഒരു കാര്യവുമില്ല. അങ്ങനെ ആരെങ്കിലും പൊട്ടിത്തെറിക്കുന്നത് ഞാന്‍ മൈന്‍ഡ് ചെയ്യുന്നുമില്ല."

Salim Kumar caught breaking the queue before Beverages store
The long queue before the beverages stores in the state during Onam season has to be seen to be believed.
Salim Kumar, the popular comedian was caught the other day trying to break the queue in front of a beverages shop near Fort Kochi.
The people who were standing in the queue were surprised that the actor was trying to break the queue and some even started questioning his behavior.
It was then that they were told that Salim's antics were part of the shooting of Martin Prakkat's new film 'Best Actor'. Martin apparently wanted to capture the shot as naturally as possible, and hence Salim was sent over to do the act.
People who realised that they were on camera turned very enthusiastic and some even approached Salim for making small talk.
'Best Actor' has Mammootty in the title role. Bangalore actress Sonu is the heroine.

Sonu says she considers it a great honour as a beginner to make her debut in Malayalam opposite such a great actor. She also admits that she is a bit tense at acting with such a huge acting legend.
Sonu has seen four Malayalam films - Mammootty's 'Kazhcha', Mohanlal's 'Madambi', Prithvi's 'Robinhood' and Dileep's 'Passenger'.
Sonu says she likes Kavya Madhavan a lot among the Malayali heroines, and also that her stint in Malluwood would contribute to her development as an actress.
Sonu's dad was Kamalhassan's personal makeup man. She debuted in Kannada with the film 'Inthi Ninna Preethiya'. She has also completed another film titled 'Police Quarters' in Tamil.

Mammootty is brand ambassador for Pearls Infra
Actor Mammootty will be the brand ambassador for Pearls Infrastructure Projects Limited in Kerala. The well-known Australian cricketer Brett Lee would be pan-India brand ambassador for the company, its representative Pratik Kumar told reporters on Friday.
Pearls, which has presence in 15 states, plans to set up two state-of-the-art residential complexes in Kochi – Pearls Riviera and Pearls Garden View. Pearls is also involved in developing large agro-based and township projects in Kerela.
Pearls Riviera spread over 9.65 acres surrounded by lush greenery close to the banks of a river. Pearls Riviera will have more than 1,300 flats with facilities like swimming pool, clubhouse and landscaped gardens.
The Pearls Garden View is 11-storey twin tower spread across two acres of land having 142 flats. This will have two landscaped gardens on every floor. The complex, located on Chilavannoor road also has 100-ft swimming pool, sports complex, landscaped greens, jogging and paved tracks.
I don't compromise on my religious belief: Mammootty
He is one of the busiest persons in the Malayalam film industry, but superstar Mammootty is not missing his Ramadan fast despite the workload.
"Acting is my job and at the same time I don't compromise on my religious belief, hence I do my job and carry forward my duty as a Muslim too. Over the years this has become a practice for me and I am quite fine doing both," Mammootty told IANS.
Currently he is shooting here for the film Best Actor.
Directed by fashion photographer-turned-director Martin Prakkat, the film will see the superstar as a school teacher whose ultimate ambition is to act in movies.
Salim Kumar, Lal, Nedumudi Venu and Suraj Venjaranmoodu are also in the cast.
Mammootty's own firm Play House is distributing the movie, scheduled for an October release.
"Shooting is getting over and from here I move on to finish the bi-lingual Malayalam-Kannada film Shikari for which one round of shooting is over. The second and final round will be shot in Shimoga," said Mammootty who plays a double role in the film.
But the two characters never meet in the film.

Big M's in Arakkalan-Mukkal Kallan
In other biggest announcement of the year, Megastar Mammootty has cleared that 2011 will feature a multi-starrer with himself and Super star Mohanlal in the lead, produced under his banner 'Playhouse'.
Poised to be the biggest blockbuster after Twenty:20, this hilarious thriller movie will be tentatively titled as 'Arakkkalan, MukkalKallan' and will present hit writers Sibi K Thomas-Udhay Krishna as the directors. Also scripted by the duo, the movie project will be one of the most eagerly awaited flicks for next year.
Sibi K thomas-UdhayKrisshna has been immensely successful in the recent years with their last two flicks 'Pokkiri Raja'' and Twenty:20' becoming the mega hits of the years.
Azhikode sues Lal
In the follow up of events that have been happening in the cultural spheres of Kerala for quite a few months, famous orator Sukumar Azhikode, has sued Megastar Mohanlal for defamation. Filing a case against the actor at Thrissur, Azhikodu has also demanded ten lakh rupees as compensation for tarnishing his public image.
The Whole war of words started with the Thilkan issue, when Mohanlal responded sharply to some of the comments of the veteran actor. Then suddenly Azhikkodu entered the fray taking the sides of Thilakan, which ultimately resulted in both of them ending up with many a chances for suits against defamation. The movie world is eagerly waiting to know how Mohanlal handles the new case.

Actor Subair passes away!
Malayalam cinema has lost Subair, a leading character actor, who has done umpteen 'villain roles'.
Subair (48) died of a massive heart attack around 8 pm on Wednesday (August 18) at a private hospital in Kochi.
He had gone for Onam shopping with his family including his two weeks old baby girl. While driving back home he complained of chest pain and drove straight to a nearby hospital.
Later he was shifted to a cardiac care hospital, but they could not save him. The funeral will be held today in Tellichery his hometown.
Subair is famous for his villain characters he portrayed mainly in Mammootty and Mohanlal films. He has been part of Malayalam films for nearly two decades and has done around 200 films.
Subair started his career with Manthrikacheppu in the early 90's. Some of his memorable films are King, Lelam, BharathChandran IPS, Nadia Kollepetta Rathri etc.
He had reached Kochi yesterday morning after completing the climax of Prithviraj's B Unnikrishnan directed Thriller, probably his last film.
Mammootty Launches 'Big News'
"This is an age of media demassification and there is enough number of dailies and channels in the state to impart news to the people. I hope 'Big News' will be different among them all and will develop a constructive journalism proclaiming truth as its main objective," said Mammootty.
Kalakaumadi Group has been in the publishing industry for around 30 years and they have got a number of publications on various genres. The literary publication of the group, 'Kalakaumadi', braved many hardships during the period of Emergency and it is now regarded as one of the best literary magazines in the state.
Lyricist Sreekumaran Thampi presided over the function, while Sukumaran Mani, Chief Editor of the tabloid, welcomed the guests. Lyricist Bichu Thirumala, actors like Meeran Nandan, Manikyam Mythili offered felicitations.

ഹരിഹരന് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'പഴശ്ശിരാജ' ജപ്പാനിലെ ഫുക്കുവോക്ക ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവത്തിലെ മത്സരവിഭാഗത്തിലേക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഈ ചലച്ചിത്രോത്സവത്തിലേക്ക് തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്ന ഒരേയൊരു ഇന്ത്യന് സിനിമയാണ് പഴശ്ശിരാജ.

AMMA to boycott Kamal Haasan felicitation
AMMA has decided to boycott the Kerala Tourism department's function to honour Kamal Haasan for completing 50 years in the industry.
"We have nothing against honouring Kamal Haasan. However, we feel there are other artists in Malayalam cinema who have completed 50 years, and are worthy to be recognized by the state government. Why should an actor from outside the state be felicitated?" said AMMA president Innocent.
According to sources, superstar Mammootty and Mohanlal will take part in the grand function on August 22.

Thilakan to contest elections against Ganesh Kumar?
Thilakan launched a verbal onslaught against actor and former minister Ganesh Kumar.
Without naming the actor, Thilakan referred to Ganesh Kumar as the 'former minister' and said that he himself plans to compete against Ganesh in the next elections.
He said that he wouldn't let Ganesh enter the Parliament again, since Ganesh had pooh poohed his Communist legacy.
Thilakan also criticised AMMA's decision to keep away from the State Government event to honour Kamalhassan. AMMA should be dismissed, he added.

RAJINI, JITHENDRA AND MAMMOOTTY ON STAGE
A function to mark laying of the foundation for the houses to be built for film workers and technicians is to be held on August 22, 2010. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi will lay the foundation stone.
Films artistes and technicians will participate in the inauguration of this Kalaignar Nagar at Paiyyanur near Chennai and 200 buses have been arranged to transport them to the spot.
Rajinikanth, Bollywood star Jithendra, Mammootty, Sarath Kumar and Venkatesh will grace the occasion. Noted director K Balachandar will head this event along with Dasari Narayan Rao and AVM Saravanan. Rama Narayanan will deliver the welcome speech. 'Vande Matharam' postponed to Ramdan
Mammootty's new action extravagance titled 'Vandematharam' which was all set to introduce the action king Arjun in to mollywood entry, was planned to release by this Onam. But as per the latest reports Mammootty has asked the producer to postpone the release of the film to September 10 the ramdan day. This postponement is said due to the ramdan fast in Malabar area, which was the strong belt of super star. The movie is made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu & kannda in the same title 'Vandematharam' which will also grace the theaters with 400 prints on the same day.
The film is produced by Henry under the banner of Pankaj productions which will also have action king Arjun in a supporting role. Meanwhile Mammooty will join the set of 'Best Actor' for second schedule on this week after complete his work on Best of luck, which he doing a guest appearance as mega star Mammootty.
According to the present schedules his ramdan movie 'Pranchiyeten and the saint' is expected to grace the theatres on October 8.

Sreenivasan accused of plagiarism again!
Late scriptwriter Sasidharan Arattuvazhy's wife Sudhakutty has alleged that Sreenivasan has stolen the story of his latest film 'Oru Naal Varum' from her husband.
Sasidharan Arattuvazhy had told the story to Sreenivasan who had created a script based on it for Mohanlal. Sreenivasan is yet to respond to Sudhakutty's allegation.
Sudhakutty says that she had even enquired about the film while the shoot of 'Oru Naal Varum' was going on, but Sreeni had plainly denied it.
It hasn't been long since another writer based in Kozhikode had come up with the same allegation regarding the story of 'Oru Naal Varum'.
All these allegations turn out to be extremely funny since the film that was a major disappointment has already left almost all the major centres.

He said Mammootty was his "valiyettan" (big brother). "When he feels that I have done something wrong, he would explode in front of our common friends: 'What is wrong with him? Why did he do that?' If Mammookka opposes something, I would not do it immediately, though I might do that later," explains Mohanlal.
Mammootty, on his part, says that Lal asks his advice on several things, including on his cinemas. Lal usually agrees with him, Mammootty reveals.
If only the warring fans of both the superstars understand this!

I will definitely turn to direction sooner or later: Jagadeesh
Actor Jagadeesh who was expected to turn director with the Mammootty starrer 'Amar Akbar Antony' has temporarily stalled his directorial plans.
Jagadeesh says that since his first film as a director required an exorbitant budget, he had even thought of scripting a film that required smaller funds.
However since he feels the director needs to be with his film entirely for atleast six months with no other distraction, direction will have to wait.
The actor says he is currently busy with several projects, some of which are really promising ones. He is also busy playing the host of the highly popular programme Vodafone Comedy Stars on Asianet.
Jagadeesh also affirmed that Mammootty is ready to allot him dates whenever he is ready. But as of now, his directorial dreams have been put on hold.

National Film Awards discussions starts
In a bid to give regional language films a bigger chance to bag the spotlight at the National Film Awards, the government has decided to introduce a two-tier selection system. The delayed selections for the 2009 Awards will be conducted under the new system. The decision has been taken on the basis of recommendations submitted by an expert committee headed by filmmaker Shyam Benegal. Five regional panels will be constituted to select the best films in their own areas, following which a central jury will make the final award decision. The northern region will include films in English, Punjabi, Dogri, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Rajasthani and central Indian languages, while the western region will consist of films made in Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati and Konkani. The southern part of the country has been divided into two regions, of which one will include Tamil and Malayalam films, while another will consist of films made in Kannada, Telegu and Tulu. Films made in Bengali, Assamese, Oriya and the dialects spoken in the northeastern part of the country will all be included in the Eastern region. The central jury will have a chairperson and ten other members, of which half will be the chairs of the regional juries. All screenings will be held in Delhi.

57th South Film fare Awards 2010 Winners- Full list.
The bewitching lady in black swept Chennaiites off their feet as the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009 (South) were announced on Saturday night.
Over 40 awards in various categories were given to Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada films. It was reason to celebrate, raise a toast to cinema, and salute the stars with the oldest and most cherished awards in the country. Malayalam film Pazhassiraja' won seven awards, Telugu film Magadheera' walked home with six, and national award-winning Tamil film Kanchivaram' netted three.
Stars sashayed in chiffons and silks, flashing billion dollar smiles for the shutterbugs. The arrival of Sudha Murthy and Mallika Srinivasan created a flutter.
By 7pm, fans were star spotting, and by 8pm, a host of celebrities were seated. But not before they signed the Billion Hearts Beating campaign board at the entrance. Actor Suriya wrote, "Let us make it a heart healthy nation".
Actors Shriya Saran, Simbu, Prabhu Deva, Trisha, Tamannah and Reemaa Sen, directors Shankar and KS Ravikumar, and producer Dayanidhi Alagiri made fashionable entrances. At 10 pm, the celebrities were still arriving Vidya Balan in a gold dress, Mammootty in a blue shirt and director Shankar sporting a huge smile. Emcees Ganesh Venkatraman and Andrea set the tone from the word go, with Andrea declaring herself a Filmfare virgin'.
As each award was announced, there were tears and joy. Singer Priya Himesh, who took home an award for Ringa Ringa' from Telugu film Arya 2' smiled, declared herself a Tamilian, burst into tears and asked her music director to present the award again.
Lyricist ONV Kurup who won the Black Lady for Kunnathe' from Malayalam film Pazhassiraja' gave a dignified acceptance speech. Actor Abhinaya, who debuted in Tamil film Nadodigal' and has a speech impairment, moved the audience with her thanks.
The awards were interspersed with performances by Vineeth, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sameera Reddy.
In Malayalam, period film Pazhassiraja' was judged the best film, while Hariharan was best director. Mammootty, an eternal favourite with Chennai crowds, won best actor and Shweta Menon was best female actor.
Best cinematographer awards went to Senthil Kumar for Magadheera' and Thiru for Kanchivaram'. Magadheera' grabbed awards for best film, best director (SS Rajamouli), best actor (Ram Charan Teja) and best music (MM Keeravani) and best male playback singer (Anuj Guruwara).

Mammootty completes ‘Best Of Luck’
Megastar Mammootty has completed his portions in the new flick 'Best Of Luck'. The super star of Malayalam cinema is appearing in a guest role as a real life Superstar in the movie. The character that Mammootty performs will make an entry at a crucial point in the life of the protagonists, Soorya and Manu played by Kailash and Aasif Ali in the movie.
The very first scene to be shot with Mammootty was a film shooting scene where director Johny Antony, and Scriptwriter Cherian Kalpakavadi also appeared as themselves on screen.
Mammootty has earlier portrayed himself in movies like 'No. 20 Madras Mail, Mazha Peyyunu Maddhhalam Kottunnu' and Prithviraj's 'One Way Ticket'.
'Best Of Luck' directed by M A Nishad features a lot of young stars of Mollywood in the script of the director. The movie is expected to be in theatres by the first of October.

Mammootty had taken time off his busy Malayalam film shoot in Kerala to attend the "most prestigious film awards in the country".
After getting the coveted 57th Idea Filmfare Awards 2009 (South)
in the Best Actor category for his brilliant dual role in Paleri Manikyam the Malayalam megastar said, "I'm on top of the world, I have entered double figures. Yes it's my 10th Filmfare award. It feels fantastic to hold the Black Lady."
The debonair actor, wearing a blue cheque shirt and black pant, was looking as dashing as ever and in fact, was the cynosure of all eyes. "Last year, I got immense satisfaction as an actor doing three very good films — Pazhassi Raja, Paleri Manikam and Loud Speaker. I would take this award as recognition of my work in all the three films," said a smiling
Mammootty.
Mammootty said he is always open to young directors with new ideas and will go the extra mile to do "something different, if the script is exciting." Concluded Mammootty, "As a star and an actor, I have to take a middle path by doing mass commercial films but at the same time, do films that I feel are different and interesting.
I would love to get more black ladies to adorn my showcase at home." The big question being asked is whether Mammootty will beat the record set by Kamal Haasan in the number of Filmfare awards.

Fourth sequel for Mammootty film
It was a thriller made way back in 1988 starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty. Now 'Oru CBI Dairy Kurippu' director K. Madhu is working on its fourth sequel.
In a chat to IANS, Madhu said scripting work is going on and the film would be released next year.
'To the best of my knowledge this is certainly unique, with not a single film going into four sequels. And mind you, each of the earlier released films were superhits,' said Madhu.
The first sequel was 'Jagratha' in 1989 , 'Sethurama Iyer CBI' in 2004 and 'Nerariyan CBI' in 2005.
'Another uniqueness of this film is that the director, scriptwriter (S.N. Swamy), music (Shyam) and leader actor Mammootty have been the same in all the four films and will continue in the fifth one as well,' pointed out Madhu.
Each of the films saw Mammootty playing the role of a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer who along with his team solves a crime when the local police fails.
'This time also the plot is the same but the name of the film is not ready. By all means viewers will certainly not be let down and can expect another thriller,' said Madhu who made his directorial debut in 1986 and so far has done 28 films.

Protest planned against Kerala censor board official
Officials of the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce have announced that they would stage a sit-in outside the regional censor board office here Thursday to protest against the high handedness of an officer.
Film stars, producers, distributors, directors and exhibitors are likely to take part in the protest, they said.
Addressing reporters here Wednesday, convenor of the chamber G. Suresh Kumar said regional censor officer Madhu Kumar was behaving in an irresponsible manner.
'He is coming out with rules which no producer in the past had to face and, as a result, lot of inconvenience is being caused,' he said.
'We want him to be shifted and save the industry here from more problems,' said Suresh Kumar.
Citing an example, the chamber official said 'Vande Matheram' -- a film starring Mammootty -- ran into trouble with the official asking the producer of the film to delete two songs.

Speaking to IANS, Madhu Kumar dismissed the allegations levelled against him.
'I go by the rule book only. The rules are quite clear and I can't deviate from that. I have done no wrong and the producers are well within their right to go in for an appeal if they have problems. The rules are clear that they can approach the appellate authority for an appeal,' said Madhu Kumar.
Film stars, producers, distributors, directors and exhibitors are likely to take part in the protest, they said.
Addressing reporters here Wednesday, convenor of the chamber G. Suresh Kumar said regional censor officer Madhu Kumar was behaving in an irresponsible manner.
'He is coming out with rules which no producer in the past had to face and, as a result, lot of inconvenience is being caused,' he said.
'We want him to be shifted and save the industry here from more problems,' said Suresh Kumar.
Citing an example, the chamber official said 'Vande Matheram' -- a film starring Mammootty -- ran into trouble with the official asking the producer of the film to delete two songs.
