other movies that were released a couple of weeks ago, starts to
attract audiences in metro cities. The top five movies of the week are
1. 'Merikkundoru Kunjadu' - The film which opened Xmas weeks still
continues in all centers with good collections. The initial
collections are amazing, all across Kerala. Grossing around 3.5 crores
in just Eight days is not a mean thing for a Malayalam cinema. With
the larger amounts it had fetched as channel rights and by selling out
rights, the movie will move into profits even from its week three.
2. 'Best Actor' - Mammootty's fun ride is continuing with its success
ride even in the fourth week with steady collections. The forth
weekend collection of the film is still encouraging, with more than
100percent collections, more of family audiences, in the major
centers. In lesser stations, the film has already moved out for other
releases. Already grabbing 3.05crore share in 24 days, the movie is
sure to rake in profits in four weeks run.
'Merikundoru Kunjadu', 'Best Actor' on top 3. 'Tournament' - Director
lal with another outing with new commers doesn't prove to be a winner.
The movie just continues in the theatres with around 40 percent
collections in major centers.
4. 'Kandahar' - Major Ravi's biggest film in term of budget, and
visual impact is also expected to become his biggest failure in box
office. The film in its third week doesn't even collect like average
lal flick.
5. 'Karyasthan' -This Dileep -Suraj starrer now in its 65days, still
holds strong in the fifth position. The film registers average
collections in metros.'Karysthan' is already declared as a 'big hit'
of 2010 among filmy circles.
'Pranchiyetten And The Saint' still maintains its audience pull at
fifty percent in major centers, where it is entering 125 days. The
other major release of the week 'Karayilekoru kadal dooram', starring
Indrajith and Mamtha, has opened to average collections.
