Film Critics' Awards announced; Innocent is the Best Actor

The Film Critics' Awards for the year 2009 have been announced. Innocent has bagged the Best Actor award for his performance in 'Patham Nilayile Theevandi'. Kaniha is the Best Actress for her portrayal of a middle class girl in 'Bhagyadevatha'.

'Pazhassi Raja' and 'Ividam Swargamanu' shared the honor for Best Picture. Hariharan is the Best Director of the year (Pazhassi Raja).

Jagathy Sreekumar has been selected for a special award taking into consideration his overall contributions to cinema.

Second Best Actress: Shwetha Menon (Palery Manickyam)
Best Child Artiste: Niveditha (Bhramaram)
Best Story: Cherian Kalpakavady (Bharya Swantham Suhruthu)

Best Lyricist: Shibu Chakravarthy (Patham Nilayile Theevandi)
Best Music Director: Sreenivas (Seetha Kalyanam)
Best Male Singer: Madhu Balakrishna (Patham Nilayile Theevandi)
Best Female Singer; Jyothsna (Nayanam)
Best Popular Films: Passenger, Neelathamara
Best Debutante Performers: Reema Kallingal, Archana Kavi
