The next to follow will be Kuttisrank which is charted as a November 2 release, 30 days after the release of Pazassi Raja. This film produced by Reliance Entertainment and distributed by Marikkar Films in kerala.
Mammootty is presently in the sets of Chattambi Nadu directed by Shafi, planned for X mas of 2009. He has already completed another film Paleri Manikkam by Ranjith. This film may make an appearance in screen November 27. Meanwhile his Multi bilingual 'Vande Matharam' will make a release by the mid of this January 2010, as per the present plans.
Mammootty in November will be shooting for Shaji Kilas's 'Droner', which will be released by the Feb 2010. Soon after this film Mammootty has given 40 days for an action family entertainer film 'Pramani' directed by B.Unnikrishnan. This film distributed by Play House will be fifth film in Malayalam.

The movie is all about the relationships between two rare bred men from extremely different strata of society, but more in common than is apparent from the first look. They might have never run into each other, with their stark contrast in nature and life styles and would have hardly given each other a second look, if they hadn't met in these defined circumstances. But the movie throws them together, intertwined in worst of their days and progressively built in the rapport between the extremes, and infuses the spirit of worthy and meaningful life to all in the screen and those who watches them on screen.
The movie offers Mammootty an excellent chance to tide over the recent mimicry, child-play movies and characterisations with a solid role of uneducated Mike Philippose, a barefooted simpleton who lands in the city, armoured with his loud voice, opinions and dazzling wit to stand up with the different level of etiquette's he find in the flats of the city. His arrival is as a kidney donor to ailing Anand Menon, an astrophysicist who returned to his home nation after working in US for the last forty six years. A dejected man who wants to run away from his memories, Menon is turned into the reverse track by Mike, who lives with his memories and snobs about his deceased father and about the silent hamlet of Thopramkudy.
The movie packs a lot of characters like the old man (Janardhanan) in legal tussle with his children, the fighting couple (Kalpana and Reghu) who even doesn't like to see face to face, a secretary of the flat residents (Jagathy) who only has a dog for his company, a group of loud bachelors and a kid who turns a brat, left alone and away from her parents. Some of these laudable characteristics are balanced by weak characters, and superficial emotions but the central character of Mike infuses in all of them the spirit of genuine humanness and to live with temperamental ease.
Jayaraj seems to be juggling with commercial and offbeat traits in one single movie, which at times show directorial, and screenplay flourishes and then jump back to elements of commercial potboilers, like the unwanted fight sequence, and slapstick attempts of pandemonium involving the dog and its owner. But, the director succeeds in keeping the spirit of refreshing do-goodness of the central character and his logic's, sprinkled over in every scenes, delivering an breezy soft entertainer - a nice break from the current trends.
Mammootty lives the role superbly, with his slightly changed hairdo and dress codes and displays his competency in delivering live humour with ease. With sync sound to his support, the actor is free flowing and natural to the core. Veteran journo Sasikumar as NRI Menon, is quite a revelation. Though he isn't very expressive, he has good screen presence and sticks to the demands of the role with his restrained presentation and manoeuvres. The huge bevy of supporting actors including the heroine Gracy Singh, does their parts well and Jayaraj shows that he still retains his knack of eliciting laughs, that he had in his opening films of his career. It must be also noted that Suraj Venjaramoodu and Jagathy Sreekumar are wasted and fails to create the chuckles as expected of their characters.
The picturization of song sequences are probably the department where Jayaraj has little changed. Except the remix of classic hit 'Alliyambal' which speaks and portraits heavy nostalgia, all other song sequences have been pictured in same locations with minimalist visuals that lack a inch of gloss, which could have made the sequences more appealing.
Bijubal with his music and background scores does an excellent job while Guna, in camera department also captures the urbane and rural colours with grace. But the sync sound tracks fails to function well as the dialogues of Salimkumar and Cochin Haneef often stoop to inaudible levels. This in turn, has helped the movie as the viewers are forced to watch the movie with big silence. The movie gets tad slow in the final minutes, but the propagated spirit of friendship and goodness in life floats the movie all through without much casuality.
A little more crispness in scripts and care in execution could have made it to the list of the bests, seen in recent times in Mollywood. But now with its noble theme, nice premise and great performances form the lead pairs, the movie ends up as a laudable effort and can be definitely prescribed for a lighthearted entertainment.

"Of course, I am delighted to hear such reports because this film is unlike my usual films where I play the lead," Mammootty told IANS over telephone from his residence in Kochi. A devout Muslim, the actor has taken a rare day off on account of Eid.
Directed by Jayaraj, the film sees Mammootty as a simpleton who helps an NRI in finding his roots. Bollywood actress Gracy Singh plays the female lead.
It seems to be a favourable year for the three time National Award winning actor. His Independence Day release "Daddy Cool" too has been a box office hit and is still running to packed houses.
His next venture is the much-talked about period movie "Pazhassi Raja", which is releasing Oct 2.
"Yes, 'Pazhassi Raja' is another one and I have high hopes from it because it is one film that has been in the waiting list for a long time. Yesterday (Sunday), the music of the film was released," said the 56-year-old.
Mammootty's "Kutty Shrank", directed by award winning director Shaji M. Karunand, is also complete.
"Yes, that is also ready for release and it may hit theatres by the end of next month. As always I have done my best and rest I leave on the audience," said Mammootty.
He added that his "Paleri Manickam", which is being directed by Renjith, will be completed soon and release towards the end of the year.
" 'Chattambi Nadu' is presently being shot. All in all, I am happy," added the superstar, who has acted in more than 300 Malayalam films besides Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and English in a nearly three-decade long career.
Everyone is becoming an island of sorts, protecting his own space without caring for others. What happens if in such a scenario a person lands oozing rustic charm and keeping the old values intact? That is what the National award-winning director Jayaraj tries to explore in his latest Malayalam film Loud Speaker starring Mammootty and Sashi Kumar (former Chairman of Asianet and the director of Kaya Tharan).
The idea may be old but the way he presents it floors us. The charm of human bonding and staying one with nature without malice towards anyone forms the crux of this film.
Mike Philipose (Mammootty), a person with a loud booming voice from the rustic hinterland lands up in an apartment building (a symbolic representation of city life) as an organ donor for an old expatriate scientist Menon (Shashi Kumar). How he changes the lifestyle of the inhabitants of that building forms the story.
The story is laced with humour. So, the underlying pathos of the situation is glazed over by it. The area of conflict initially is the sophistication of city dwellers versus the uncouth ways of a rural migrant. The tug of war between the two forms the major chunk of the first half of the film. The building being the microcosm wealthy society: a kindergarten attending children with unbridled mischief to college students who do not have the courtesy or respect, a man who tends to a dog while the wife works in a foreign country, a warring middle-aged couple who even cook their food separately, old aged parents abandoned after they have distributed their wealth among their children.
These characters are portrayed well. Jagathy Sreekumar, the secretary of the housing society is the husband who tends to a German shepherd. Kalapana and Bheeman Raghu are the warring couple and Janardhanan is the anguished father, who has filed a case against his children to get back his property.
And, to fill the place of a leading lady, Gracy Singh [ Images ] is cast as a nurse attending to Menon at his home.
The first half moves breezily with mirth. The second half becomes sentimentally heavy as Menon revisits his childhood, the place from where he had run away as teenager for having an illicit affair with his cousin. This part of the narrative is a bit too slow but, considering the overall package, this can be termed as a minor glitch, and can be overlooked.
Mammootty excels in handling both humour and seriousness with elan. His performance in this film proves that he does not require to do kiddie stuff to establish his comic credentials. Here he shoulders the responsibility of entertaining a section of the audience while keeping the serious undercurrent intact.
Shashi Kumar as the vulnerable but sure-footed man needing urgent kidney transplant is believable. His voice modulation is soft but firm in contrast with that of Mike, showing off his exposure to the aristocratic world.
With Loud Speaker, Jayaraj gets back into his groove.

'അല്ലിയാമ്പല് കടവില്' എന്ന പഴയ ഗാനത്തിന്റെ മനോഹരമായ പുനഃസൃഷ്ടിയും
പ്രേക്ഷകനില് ഗൃഹാതുരത ഉണര്ത്തുന്നു.

Haunted by a daunting past, Menon (Sasikumar) returns to India after a
long forty five years in the US. His fast failing health leads him on to
a chance encounter with Mic (Mammootty), a simpleton who has arrived in
the city to earn some money. Mic soon wins over the hearts of the folks
around him and earns the nickname 'Loudspeaker' with his bellowing
sound.
'Loudspeaker' is all about a dejected individual whose life is
tremendously altered by a man, who infuses it with a burst of passion
that the former had never experienced. It's equally possible that Menon
might have chosen to turn away from the warmth of life around him, since
at some point he admits to having run away from memories.
The long process by which Mic gradually pushes himself into Menon's life
is endearing. Menon is left with little choice, and soon they set up a
strange sort of camaraderie that defies their disparities. For Menon,
there are several steps down the ladder, that he willfully steps down,
before he puts his arms around his cheerful new friend. And for Mic, for
whom the whole world has been nothing but a small hamlet, Menon is a
revelation. It isn't an easy journey for both of them; from being alone
in their respective worlds to learning to rely on one another.
Outcasts in their own right, Menon and Mic have a lot in common. This
commonness finds expression in different ways in both of them. Menon has
turned out be a hermit of sorts, and has resignedly settled down to an
existence that swells with emptiness. Mic on the other hand simply
refuses to give up, and vigorously hangs on to the very last straw, all
the while hoping to start it all over again.
There are several touches that steer the film just slightly away from
the mainstream. These are characters you and me would actually care
about and probably even relate to; these are recognizable human beings
that you get to see on screen. And the film doesn't depend entirely on
its plot; rather it's built on several tender moments that are true
heart warmers.
The loud speaking Mic is a role that real actors would fall head over
heels for; and one that stars would shy away from. It has Mammootty at
his best, and by virtue of his natural charm and dazzling wit, Mic gets
away with almost everything that he does. As simple as it appears, this
is an intricate role that he breathes all his life into, with an
outstanding performance that could easily be seen as a marvel of
contemporary screen acting.
The real revelation of the film would be Sasikumar. I wouldn't want to
see anybody else as Menon; Sasikumar is as real as Menon could ever be.
Mildly restrained and adding on that extra bit of appeal, the veteran
journalist has been perfectly cast as the man who fumbles around with
the bits and pieces of his life.
By the end of the film Mic and Menon have both grown into something
more. There are none of those tear jerking monologues in the finale.
It's another matter altogether if the film moves you in several ways
than you probably would ever admit.
'Loud Speaker' is a film that I want to believe in. One of those films
that would have you walk out of the cinema hall with a smile on your

Story : In short, LoudSpeaker is all about Mike who comes to Menon's
rescue as he accepts to a deal for donating his kidney for money so that
he could get his land back..
1st half went smoothly with slight comedies of the problems Mike creates
in Menon's flat with his loud sound even though some comedies by Jagathy
didnt evoke much laughter. Duration was just close to an hour..
2nd half is the soul of the movie. Fantastic [thumright] Touching
scenes, slight humour in b/w, good songs. Alliyambal got wonderful
applause.. Then came the pivotal moment of the movie- Climax. I was but
worried on how Jayaraj could handle it. Fortunately, everything turned
out well. [cheers]
Performances: Mammukka [salut] Excellent character & gave 100%
justice. Watch out for his expressions & sound modulation when he leaves
the hospital towards the end of the movie. Coming to Sasikumar, he was
perfect as Menon.. What a selection Mammukka [thumright] Others didnt
make much of an impact in the movie even though they did well for the
space they got.
Surprise package-Jayaraj [thumright] Cant imagine he was the one who
directed Aswaroodan,Rain rain.. Beautiful narration. Story was sweet &
simple [Cool] Heard this is his 1st movie handling the script. Good
start [Thumbup] Expecting more good movies from you.
Music by Bijibal [thumright] All the songs went well with the movie
and were apt for respective situations.. Art Direction was pakka..
On the whole, Loud Speaker is a feel good movie. Good old days are back
in Malayalam cinema.

This is the second time Mammootty and Jayaraj have come together, the first time being in Johny Walker. Family-centric plots are Jayaraj's forte too. Two of his films that spring to mind are Thalolam and Deshadanam, both of which secured critical as well as popular acclaim.
Story starts when Mike Philippose coming from a village to the city to donate his kidney for his financial needs. Menon, (Sasikumar) he lost both kidneys and living on dialysis who requires an emergency kidney replication. Philippose comes and started staying with Menon in flat. Philippose is a loud speaker by nature and becoming a nuisance for both Menon and other people who lives in other flats. But slowly but gradually Philippose becoming a part of their whole life and how this relationship grows and leads into a stunning climax.
Strong point of Loud Speaker is competent performances from, Mammootty and Sasi kumar . And when it is propped up by a powerful script (Jayaraj) and crisp dialogues, the outcome is a fare that appeals to all, cutting across gender and age barriers.Then there is Salim Kumar & Suraj whose mahout provides the comic element, and Gracy Singh who plays an home Nurse, nothing much to do for her but done her part well. Kochin haneef, Jagathi and KPAC Lalitha acquit themselves well in supportive roles.
Bijipal's music meshes well with the mood of the movie. One song remix of , "Alliyambal" sung by Vijay Yesudas has caught on popular imagination.
All in all, Loud Speaker is a simple story told in a simple way. Jayaraj takes a mighty swipe at modernity that kills relationships and blights fraternal bonds. No matter the hurdles, love ,Friend ship and kin triumph in the end. That is the enduring message of Loud Speaker. And Jayaraj has conveyed it convincingly.

Take a look- Kanakanmani, The film maintained 70%-80% collections all through the week, continuing in almost all the release centers. Oru Black&white Kudumbam, Sudharil Sudhan, and Decent parties are flops, which are unlikely to recover their combined cost of approximately Rs 7 Crore! Except Daddy Cool & Puthiya Mugham, all the other releases were 'hold over' (a trade term for a film which falls below the normal accepted collection figure) on the opening day!
In Capital City, Kerala's one of highest collecting centre, on Thiruonam day (September 2), only Mammootty's Daddy Cool and Prithvi Raj's Puthimugham, reported 100 Mohanlal -Bhramaram percent collection, 25 days after release ! Puthiya Mugham emerged as clear onam winner and Completes 50 days in fifteen plus center . while E Pattanathil Bhootham on its 55th day could get only 50 percent! Mohanlal's Bhramaram, on its 65th day reported 40 percent collection,Even though the film's narratives is not up to the mark , expected from some one like Blessy, the visuals and the good music works extremely well for the film and one expects that these factors worked together to help the film , to sustain Major centers.
The other three Onam releases, theatres refused to give the figures, as it would be embarrassing for their makers.

As so many people commented Loud Speaker is another family hit from Ikka after Kazhcha and Palunku. Each and every scene we love to watch Ikka's innocent acting. We are not just watching the film, but living…..
Sasikumar:
His acting is quite natural and matured. He has very important role in the film. Almost all nostalgic feelings are portrayed through him. Mammootty's presence made it sweeter. Great acting Sasikumar!
Gracy Singh: Better than recent Mammootty heroines. But nothing great to do in this film.
Direction - Jayaraj
No need to appreciate this great director. Because mere appreciations will not suffice…He already proved that he is a talented director. We saw many of his experimentations before. Congratulations for making a simple but great movie like this!
Technical Department
Cinematography:
Gunashekhar Dft has done an excellent job in this nice film. Each and every scene was crystal clear. 535 cameras are one of world's best film shooting cameras. Top angle shots were optimized. Nowadays most Malayalam films use top angle crane shots heavily. But here in Loud Speaker it was used when ever required. Photography is one of the important factors because of which we feel the nostalgia without losing the essence.
Sound:
One of the main highlights of this film is its spot dubbing. The original sounds while shooting were used in the film except the BGM. Really appreciate the experimentation. But one thing to mention here is that sounds in first 2-3 scenes were not audible. May be we can use this spot dubbing going forward because, on the spot sounds are more realistic than fabricated sounds, but make sure that it is properly engineered before embedded in to the reels.
Cuts:
Editing was also good. We don't find any noticeable lagging of the film, even though it lagged in some slapstick comedy scenes!
BGM:
BGM was simply superb. The unplugged scores used in "Alliyambal" song were really enjoyable. The full BGM goes in sync with the mood of this simple film except that in the fight.
Lyrics & Music:
Arabikkadha team strikes again. Music is one of the main highlights of this film. Already lyrics & music is a hit all over Kerala. Anil's lines are too good and catchy. Biji's music is marvelous especially the "Alliyambal" song. Hope he will give more nostalgic music in coming films too.
Some scenes I liked most:

2. Alliyambal song picturization…too good……
3. Mammootty chatting with heroine while he was washing his clothes in the terrace.
4. Climax scene in which the camera was zooming out.

Just giving a glimpse in to the story,Mike peelippose is an innocent village based guy from thoppramkudi who is into the habit of talking tooo loudly which was ok in his village but becomes a nuisance when he moves to the city.Mike comes to the city as a Kidney Donor for the character enacted by Sashikumaar.In Sashikumaars flat Mike gets to look into arid life styles of the city life and interferes in each and every instance where he isnt supposed to.Though initially a nuisance Mike finally gives them a glimpse on what life is all about and hence solving off many their problems.Mike peelippose a chacter carefully shaped out will be carried home by each n every one who gets to spend the 2 hours with him.Whereever he goes he innocently mingles with the people,just for the instance he gets into road side tea seller and gets a group to chat with,sharing with the adventurous history of his father.Unaware of the consequences he goes by his heart.The storyline
is simlar to Munnabhai series where Munna comes to the help of many common problems in the modern life style.Finally how does Mike influence the life of his kidney reciepient and does he survive the setbacks in his life is the second half.
Mammootty simply excels as he transforms each and every bit in to the giult free Thopraamkudikkaaran.A role tailor made for him to steal the show.Sashikumar has also presented his character flawless.The comedy team including Jagathi,Salimkumar Suraaj,harisree etc also bursts out laughter though personally felt that it could have done better with 1 or 2 of the crass comedy sequence like that of jagathi being beaten up by the kids avoided.Comedy works throughout with Mike in full swing right from his intro and it does suit to the overall flow and mood of the movie.Heroine Gracy singh has very little to do and does her part neatly enough.Other casts from Janaardhanan ,Augustine,Jayaraj's favourite aged artists etc too performs favourably.Music by Bijibal and lyrics by Anil Panachooran really deserves credit in bringing a lot of malayalism into the songs ,with none of them seeming to bore any.Finally to the Director ,Jayaraj once again proves that he is the
real unpredictable man among the directors as he has given craps/duds as well as good/great movies.Here he is back with Louspeaker,a simple movie wihtout much twists or thrills,which thrusts heavily on the innocent comedies of Mike,which depicts Nostalgia though aesthetic locations in a short love story of Sasikumaars character and also discusses some personal issues of the flat residents that are pretty relevant now a days.The spot dubbing would at the initial scenes would create a concern but one would soon adapt to it.

However Vasu, who approached Rajanikant to do the main role in the film, was disappointed when the megastar declined the offer, saying that he could not allot dates for two years.

The veteran actor mammootty , who has been instrumental in the success of new faces, is all set to work with another debutant director sheik , a assistant of Shaji Kilas. Mammootty who heard the one-liner of the new movie, instantly agreed to become the lead character. "The film will throw light on the atrocities by the British and how people suffered at their hands. We have made the movie after intense research. Suresh Krishna, Manoj K. Jayan and Sarath Kumar play prominent roles in the film," Malayalam superstar Mammootty told IANS.
Directed by Hariharan and produced by Gokulam Gopalan, the movie tells the story of a warrior King of Kerala who revolted against the British well before the 1857 sepoy mutiny.
Denying reports that "Pazhassi Raja" has been portrayed as the first freedom fighter in in the film, Sarath Kumar said: "We have not indulged in such act. He is respected and revered in Kerala for his patriotic spirit. Historians have been saying that the first uprising against British was 1857 Sepoy Mutiny, but Pazhassi Raja fought them long back. We have also mentioned Thippu Sultan, Marudha Pillai and Poolithevan in the film."
Ilayaraja has scored the music for the hostorical and Padmapriya will be seen in female lead in it.

Ouseppachan who thanks God for this rare triumph feels that it was also the effort of the director Shyamaprasad who asked him to take the challenge of composing all the tracks in the same raaga, to accentuate the mood of the film. Report: Mammooty and Sarath will be seen together on screen after nearly 19 years.
Chennai: Malayalam superstar Mammootty and Tamil star Sarath Kumar inaugurated the website for their forthcoming release, Pazhassi Raja in Chennai on Tuesday. But the focus was clearly on a collaboration of a different kind.
Tamil and Malayalam stars sharing screen space seems to be the trend of the season. If Mohanlal and Kamal Hassan have teamed up for Unnaippoal Oruvan, then Mammooty and Sarath are coming together after all most 19 years, for the historical drama Pazhassi Raja.
This story of the legendary Malayali prince, who died fighting the British made at a budget of about Rs 30 crore, is perhaps one of the most expensive films in Malayalam. While Mammootty plays the lead role of the Malayali prince and Sarath plays his warrior in the film.
"I'm really happy to have done this character which suited me very well because of my built. When they told me the script, I really liked it as a warrior and it had all the nuances, the action scenes, the emotions, the performance and working with Mammootty was a great experience for me," said Sarath.
"I don't feel any difference working with any of my co-actors. I'm very friendly with everybody. Even if I act with anybody and we know each other very well. Even when I started my Tamil films, he was there with me and I'm comfortable with all actors and they are comfortable with me," added Sarath.
Mammooty had his take on southern film productions having dominated the 55th National Awards, picking up the key awards.
"We make the better films I think, we make more films. See last time in the Indian Panorama-there were 21 films to be included in the Panorama and seven Malayalam films, that is one third, we are there," said Mammootty.
Talking about his films in the future, Mammootty said, "I'm doing a film with Arjun that is Aruvadai. That is a new direction by Pankaj productions. That is already almost finished."
And what about the other projects in the actor's kitty right now?
"I've already finished a film with Shaji N Karun, a film called Loudspeaker with Jayaraj, another film with a midnight murder story, Paleri Manickam it's again a period film. We have done a film called Kerala Café, which has ten stories put together; I'm there in one story. And I'll be joining for Chattambi Raja on Wednesday," he said.
Now that sounds like a treat for all Mammootty fans!

Asked to brief on Mammootty's Double role, he says, "Mammootty plays as a CBI officer who comes from Delhi to re-investigate a murder case which had occurred in the mid of the last century. At the same time he appears as a Muslim landlord lived in the same period and is connected with crime.. He is sharp, aggressive and very much a person who suits the job he is doing. The character would be no doubt liked by all admirers of Mammootty, and he has been doing the role with the ease which he has always displayed while doing such roles".
The movie is based on a short story by T P Rajeevan which was published in Mathrbumi weekly in the mid of last century. Director himself scripting for the movie and produced by A V Anoop and Maha Subair under the banner of Varnachithra and Varnachithra will be releasing the movie.

The film that stars Mammootty as the legendary hero, has a script by the veteran writer M.T.Vasudevan Nair. It marks the coming together of the director-writer-actor trio after the classic Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha.
The three hour long film was in the making for three long years, and is believed to be the costliest Malayalam film till date, with the budget crossing a whopping twenty five crores.
Along with 120 theatres in Kerala, the film would be simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hind as well. Pazhassi Raja would also have a release in the Middle East, the UK and the US, where the film would be screened with subtitles in English.

Ouseppachan was adjudged the best music director for Ore Kadal, while Pattanam Rasheed got the award for best make-up for Pardesi. B. Ajit was named best editor for Naalu Pennungal. Shyam Prasad's 'Ore Kadal' was named the best regional film.

Now, director Prasad who had earlier directed 'Panchajanyam' is all set to lead Mammootty beyond the walls in 'Mathilukalkkappuram'. His film would start where Adoor's film had ended. It would peek into what happened to the mysterious voice on the other side of the wall, immortalized by the voice of KPAC Lalitha.
Prasad's film would have Resul Pookkutty mixing the sound, while Ravi K Chandran would be at the camera helm. Vidya Balan has been roped in for an important role as well.
The film would be produced by Mammootty's production house Playhouse.

And for the fans, Super star Mammootty is planning to get his movie 'Loudspeaker' with director Jayaraj for this Onam. The movie which was censored last week will be preponed for this Ramzan and will make a wide release in almost all the centres earlier booked for 'Pazhassi Raja'.

The new date of release of the film is October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi- Pooja festival weekend.
The CG and DI work of the film has to be completed and it is taking time. The film was censored on August 31, so that it will be eligible for Panorama selection.
So now Mammootty, the smartest guy in showbiz is preponing the release of his Jayaraj directed Loud Speaker from October 2 to September 18.
The film too has been censored on August 31, with a clean `U' certificate.
Most of the theatres which had booked Pazhassi Raja has been taken over by Loud Speaker distributors Time Ads, the film carries very good reports. It looks like Mammootty will get a solo release.

'Of course, I'm really waiting for it because it is one Malayalam film which is likely to have a national release as it is dubbed in Hindi, Telegu and Tamil. Lot of hard work has gone into the film by each one associated with it,' Mammootty told IANS.
It's a Ramadan month and despite being a devout Muslim, the veteran actor is busy moving from one set to another and running from one dubbing studio to another.
'Rain or sun, I have a job in hand and I do it with all my sincerity. Right now I'm driving towards Chennai to complete the dubbing of the Tamil version of 'Pazhassi Raja'. Due to lack of time I'm not doing the Telegu and Hindi dubbing,' said Mammootty.
Scripted by M.T. Vasudevan Nair and directed by Hariharan, the film is set in the 18th century and is about Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja of the Padinjare Kovilakom of the Kottayam family.
Irked by the revenue policy of East India Company in Malabar, he threatened to cut down all the pepper vines if the British persisted in revenue collection. It is releasing in September.
In short, Pazhassi Raja's was one of the first voices to be raised against British rule in India and he was one of the first freedom fighters, but not many people are aware of this outside Kerala.
After a gap of 20 years, Nair, Hariharan and Mammootty have come together for the film. The trio last time teamed up for 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha' and created magic on celluloid. The film fetched the actor his first of the three national awards.
'Since I'm the hero of the film, I will certainly be involved in all sort of promotion of the film. This is the first Malayalam film which will have a national release and of course, I'm excited. But I'm certainly being apprehensive too, because too much expectation is not a good thing,' said Mammootty.
'Resul Pookutty has designed the sound and we were together last week and he too appears to be happy. Any way, now we will wait,' said Mammootty.

The movie is based on the real life epic of Kerala Varma 'Pazhassi Raja' of the Padinjare Kovilakom, the first ruler to rise in revolt against the British rule. He battled with the British in protest against the unpopular revenue policy followed by the East India Company in Malabar.
This period making historical movie expected to get completed in a whooping 25 crore budget has a great cast that includes Mammootty, Sarath Kumar, Suman, Thilakan, Nedumudi Venu, Jagathy Sreekumar, Captain Raju, Lalu Alex, Manoj K Jayan, Biju Menon, Kalabhavan Mani, Hary Richards, Suresh Krishna, Subair, Kanika, Padmapriya, Urmila Unni,and Valsala Menon. The Oscar winner Rasul Pookutty will design sound for his first Malayalam movie "Pazhaasi Raja.
