Mulakupadam Films, the producer of the big budget film 'Pokkiri Raja' will file a suit against Gemini Labs, Cochin for not handing over the prints of the movie on the scheduled date. Even after the final prints were ready, Gemini labs is said to have gone by the directives of the producer's association, thereby delaying the prints and thus making it impossible to release the film today. The movie makers will sue the complaint for creating big losses for the movie by deliberately postponing the film's release.
'Pokkiri Raja' featuring Mammootty and Prithviraj in key roles was supposed to make a release on 85 centers today in Kerala. According to the producer, they have written agreements with the exhibitors for providing the movie on a said date. And by moving away from the promises, even the theatre owners can move against the producer in courts. The producers association who agreed to this releasing date earlier has gone for the agitation without considering these problems that may be faced by the producers of other films that already has an agreement with theaters. It is also interesting to note that none of the producers in the core committee of the association, have got any movie scheduled for a release in the month of April or May.
Anyhow, this new agitation by the producers is already progressing into total mayhem. With three big Malayalam movies and eight smaller films waiting for release in the most prime season of the year, any further delay in ending the agitation is all set to back fire the association itself.
Meanwhile, the makers of 'Pokkiri Raja' has not yet decided on the fresh dates for the movie's release.
