M G Sasi's 'Janaki' which won the best children's rights award in Lola Kenya Festival, Dr Biju's 'Veetilekkulla Vazhy' featuring Prithviraj, which will be the opening film of Mumbai festival's Indian frames section and Renjith 's 'Palery Manickyam 'Oru Pathira kolapathakathinte Katha' which won many of the Kerala state awards and R Sukumaran's 'Yugapurushan' a revolutionary take on the life of Sreenarayana Guru will be screened on alternate venues on the days of IFFI.
Dr. Biju, feels that some of the jury members who selected these films to year's Panorama have no contemporary knowledge of Malayalam cinema. 'I can accept the selection of Makaramanju, Electra, and to an extend Aathmakadha, considering it is a new comer's film.
