Lending an ear to the Robot may help the Mollywood get out of the crisis. It is at a time when many of the Malayalam films have failed to get back the money pumped into them that 'Enthiran' (The Robot) has lured millions and netted a whopping Rs 4 crore in the first week itself from the cinemas here.Given the fact that the amount is enough to make a big budget film in Mollywood, it is high time those leading the industry put their heads together to find out how 'Enthiran' conquered even the Malayali minds. The first Tamil film released in Colosseum Kino, the largest THX cinema in the world, is breaking all box office records not only in the state but also across the country.Considering the Rs 91 lakh gross collection achieved by Mohanlal starrer-'Shikar', the record set by 'Enthiran' which opened in 120 theatres in the state seems unbreakable. In the first week, the film grossed Rs 117 crore from the cinemas across the country, surpassing the first-week collection of Bollywood's highest firstweek grosser, 'Dabangg' (Rs 82 crore), beating all records for an Indian film till date."There is a much-hyped belief that Malayalis will never accept superstar films without stuff. But, 'Enthiran's success proves that if the mixture is perfect, people will rush to the theatres. Nobody will ever try to get a pirated CD or wait to get the DVD released." Chitti's die-hard fan Karthik B, of Palakkad, says."I guess the rush will come down in the next few days once the euphoria around the film settles down, The trend in Kerala is that the highest collection will be in the first week, and from the second week onwards, the collection would slip", Keral a Film Producers Association (KFPA) president Sabu Cherian said.Though there were plans to exhibit the films from other states in Kerala only after two weeks of their release, it was dropped later. With the ticket prices so high in Tamil Nadu, Rajnikanth fans are storming the theatres in Palakkad. The saddest part is that the fans in Palakkad will have to wait at least one more week to have a go at their favourite star in the tinsel town. There was a heavy rush in the theatres in Kochi and almost all the tickets for the first week were sold like hot cakes.
