Six Malayalam films in IFFI

• Six Malayalam films have been chosen for the Indian Panorama section ofInternational Film Festival of India (IFFI) which will be held in Goa, in November
  
  The films selected are Artist, 101 Chodyangal, Celluloid, Kanyaka Talkies, Kunjananthante Kada and Shutter. Of the above, Kanyaka Talkies, directed by KR Manoj will be screened as the inaugural film at the Panorama section. 101 Chodyangal has been directed by Siddharth Siva and Artist starring Fahad Fassil was directed by Shyamaprasad. Celluloid is a film about the father of Malayalam film, JC Daniel and Kamal has directed it. Joy Mathew has directed Shutter and Mammootty starrer Kunjananthante Kada is by Salim Ahmed.
  
  The film festival will start on November 20 at Goa. 
  
  The record number of films entering IFFI has given a big boost to the Malayalam film industry.

Kaithapram plans his next film with Mammootty

• Famous lyricist and musician, Kaithapram is planning a comeback as director with a movie, which might star Mammootty in the lead. Kaithapram was away from films due to cerebral hemorrhage and was taking treatment in Vellore. Now he is back and has already started writing lyrics. He has finished the lyrics for Jean Paul's Honey Bee and Jayaraj's Camel Safari.
  
  Kaithapram's first directorial venture is Mazhavillinattam Vare and it has Archana Kavi, Salim Kumar, Sai Kumar and Nedumudi Venu. The film's music is by his son Deepankuran and the film is yet to be released. 
  
  Kaithapram has confirmed that he has been in talks with Mammootty for the film, but it is too early to confirm that he will do the film. Balyakalasakhy to restart

Mammootty has got a pretty good year in 2013. After some terrible role selection and flops of last year, he has been able to convert two of his films 'Immanuel' and Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus' to hits in 2013. Every other movies had him in meaningful roles that were appreciated by the critics.

Anyhow the actor is currently in the sets of the V K P film 'Judgement at Bangalore . He will complete the movie by the third week of October and will join the sets of Balyakalasakhy at Kolkatta.  This will be the second schedule of the movie which is based on the most popular  novelette by Vaikkom Muhamemd Basheer. Mammootty is playing the lead role of  Majeed, in this movie which will have Isha Talwar as the heroine. The movie is the directorial debut of famous theatre personality Pramod Payyanur.

Manglish with Mammootty

After the critically acclaimed 'Red wine, director  Salam Bapu will soon start works on the new film titled 'Manglish'. Featuring Mammootty in the lead , the movie will be told on the backdrop of sea. The movie is reported to feature two different heroines of which one will be an European. Unconfirmed reports tells that the movie which will be a satire will have Mammootty as a priest. Anyhow the movie will be on sets only by the early months of 2014. This movie had an decline of 39.8% collection from previous week. This movie played in 74 screens last week, with A decline of 13.3% screens from the previous week.

As the Onam vacations are over the movie showed a good drop in its collection. Third week collections went down deeply compared to the second week which is unexpected for Dileep's movie.

This movie had a decline of 35.23% collection from previous week. This movie played in 64 screens last week, with A decline of 11.4% screens from the previous week.

Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus after getting a good first week showed a considerable amount of dip after the vacation period got over. Unexpectedly this movie got an above average collection from its third week. Lack of promotions is back firing this movie.

This movie had a decline of 24.09% collection from previous week. This movie played in 37 screens last week, with A decline of 22.91% screens from the previous week.

North 24 Kaatham after a good start maintained its collection after the vacation season too. The major reason being the audience who prefer this movie is not from the vacation mass category. This movie is expected to continue its form in multiplexes as well as major centres.

This movie got an average opening but it's hard to sustain with its above average reports.
