'Yugapurushan' to start this January

R Sukumaran's take on the lives of the greatest social reformer from Kerala, Sreenarayanaguru , made in the title 'Yugapurushan' has been in the news for the last couple of years. It was megastar Mammooty who was supposed to do the title role of Guru, but at some point of time Mammootty withdraw from being the epic guruji and humbly told the producers that he may not be the right choice as his screen image may interfere with the icon, the best known name in Kerala who fought for social equality, anticlassicism and freedom.

The picture of guru, who lived in the first part of the last century, was quite familiar with the masses and so Mammootty hardly believed that he can substitute the looks and grace of the original figure.

Then the crew was for some time engaged in a mamootth task of fixing another fresh face for being Guruji. They have now finalized for two persons who will depict the life of guruji between his thirties to the seventies. According to the latest reports, the movie will start it shoot, calling the first shot on the first of Januray. R Sukumaran and its cameraman Ramachandra Babu will be canning the first shot on Mammootty himself, who will now appear as a contemporary revolutionary who lived in the times of guru and supported his ideals.

The director is planning for a shoot of two month in and outside Kerala. The detailed story boards of each of the shots are being prepared to control the budgets. The movie will also present the historic figures like Gandhiji, Tagore, Chattambi Swamikal, Kumaranasan, T K Madhavan, Ayyankaali, and Mannathu Padmanabhan who all lived and interacted with guru, when he was vigorously fighting for his ideals.

Know who is appearing as Swami Vivekanandha in the movie? It is none other than superstar Mohanlal. With the coming together of such a big cast in the recreation of a life of historic personality, 'Yugapurushan' will be one of the most sought after films of 2009.
