Pazhassi surprises with the collections

Though the hype was huge, no one expected the magnum opus historical 'Pazhaasi Raja' to win hands down. The movie which grossed around 1.53 crores in its opening day, became the film with the highest ever opening day collections. But Pazhassi's run is destined to create further more records in Mollywood, as the movie has repeated the feat in almost every centres in the last two days too-the Deepavali day and the Sunday. The movie is expected to have collected over four crores from its three day run in 125 centres. Around 10 lakhs of Malayalees are calculated to have completed their first viewing of the biggest ever movie in Mollywood, in the first three days, in the 1830 screenings all across Kerala.

More over, the satellite rights of Pazhassi Raja is rumoured to have went at an astonishing rate of 2.60 crores, the highest ever for Mollywood movie. 'Pazhassi Raja' will get into theatres in Tamil Nadu by the 30th of this month. With Sarath Kumar getting much accolades for his big performance in a big role, the movie is expected to make a decent run in Tamil Nadu too.

If the movie can continue with an eighty percent collections for two more weeks, add to it the chances of a five crore plus from Tamil Nadu and foreign prints, 'Pazhassi Raja' is expected to break even, though it is made in huge budget. This can be a heavy sign of promise for other big budgeted multi starrers that are under different stages of their production.
