KSFDC to construct eleven more theatres in the state

Even amidst talks of the Malayalam film industry reeling under severe losses, the KSFDC has gone ahead and decided to fund the construction of eleven more cinema halls in the state.

These new theaters would be built in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Malappuram, Kannur, Kasargod, Wayanad, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.

Among these, the theater at Ernakulam is expected to have the most modern facilities. This move by the KSFDC is expected to aid the film industry, since several cinema halls in the private sector are facing the threat of shutdown.

With the construction of the cinema halls, there would be an increase in the number of releasing centers.

The construction is expected to commence as soon as the permission is granted by the State Government.
