Scripted by Reji Nair, the story of this film is said to be so interesting, that Mammootty had immediately agreed to be a part of the project when he heard it.
Initially Reji had approached Akku Akbar with the story, and Mammootty had even allotted dates for Akku. However, since the director was not happy with the story, the project never materialized.
Now with V M Vinu at the helm of affairs, 'Ganapathi' should start its shoot real soon. The heroine is yet to be finalized. Produced by Kala Nair, the film is an Omkar Nedumbulli Production.
