Celebrated Malayalam actor Mammootty does it again! This superstar is on a roll this year, which seems to turn out really well for him. Almost halfway down, and with Pokkiri Raja doing fantastic in the box, the actor who is in his 56th year now has been working steadily for nearly 4 decades, since 1971, and became a superstar when his film Adiyozhukkukal hit the screens and his role as Karunan got him under the critic?s eye, who thought he was fantastic.
And now Mammootty has been awarded with Asian Televisions Award's poll award. He is apparently the most popular Malayali human being in the world. A poll conducted by the Asian Television Awards 2010, which was held in the city of Dubai on 14th May, 2010 revealed the astounding number of votes for the actor, and the poll was conducted on a world-wide basis.
Mammootty soundly outshone other popular celebrities like Mohanlal and Resul Pookutty, and he humbly accepted the award, thanking all the Malayalis who took part in the poll, and cast their votes for him. He also said that he was thankful to the Malayali people worldwide, who recognized him as the most popular individual.
